Dorohi Druzi!

With only five weeks away to the start of camp, there's action all round and we could do with plenty of help!

Working Bees at "Sokil"

You are all invited to come down to "Sokil" any weekend leading
up to camp (except 15-16 December) and lend a hand in
preparing the property for its 400 expected campers!
After this weekend, that leaves only three:  1st-2nd, 8-9th
and 22-23 December.

There's all sorts of work that needs to be done, from clearing
fallen trees, branches and undergrowth to doing minor repairs
and upgrades to the buildings to putting a new coat of paint
on the kukhnia to building a 150-seat jacuzzi ;-)  It's an
opportunity to check out the facilities and camping
arrangements first hand and be part of the preparations.

The kolyby (cabins) with beds and bunks are available for
anyone staying overnight so just bring a sleeping bag
(and warm clothes).

Plast is providing some food:  please rsvp your availability by
the Thursday before each weekend to be sure to get a sausage.

For more information, or to rsvp please contact David Hassett:  dhassett@dyneq.com.au.

How to get there

Follow the Geelong Rd all the way through Geelong.  (Don't be tempted by any turn off to Torquay!)  Out  the back of
Waurn Ponds (past Geelong) keep heading straight through
the roundabout towards Colac.  Turn off left on the
Cape Otway Rd and follow this past Moriac and Modewarre.
Turn left opposite the Wurdiboluc Reservoir (you can't see
the water until you're past the turn off, so watch out!)
onto the Wensleydale Rd.  Keep following this road after
it becomes dirt and stay left at the fork.  After about 10 minutes
on the dirt road, you should have reached "Sokil" (on your left).
See the attached map too.

Hope to see you there!

Campsite Preparations

The campsite is in good repair and has heaps of water. Sokil was deluged with 100ml rain in about 24 hours over the Melbourne Cup weekend:  the 50 m swimming pool almost broke its banks, the potichok was a rika.  Nevertheless, a hardy group of volunteers was down there doing what needed to be done to get the property ready for Tabir.
